The Vietnam People’s Army is currently undergoing a modernization process of its military transport force. Aging military transport vehicles are gradually being replaced with modern counterparts that boast high mobility and greater payload capacity.
While images of Zil-130 and Zil-157 convoys – trucks that have served the military for decades, some even outdating their drivers – can still be seen, the situation is gradually changing.
Recent exercises and combat training have increasingly showcased modern, new-generation transport vehicles from leading developed nations, highlighting this shift. These new vehicles not only better cater to the demands of transporting personnel, weaponry, and equipment but also play a crucial role in boosting the army’s combat effectiveness.
