New Truck Restrictions in Ho Chi Minh City Starting August 1st

From August 1st, 2023, Ho Chi Minh City officially implements new regulations regarding truck operating hours in the inner city. Accordingly, trucks entering the city at 9 AM will be restricted to reduce traffic congestion and improve road safety.

Truck Ban Hours in Ho Chi Minh City

Specifically, small trucks (under 2,500 kg) are not allowed to circulate in the inner city from 6 AM to 9 AM and 4 PM to 8 PM daily. This means that trucks entering the city at 9 AM will violate the regulations.

Heavier trucks are banned from circulating in the inner city from 6 AM to 10 PM every day. However, some corridor routes on the outskirts of the inner city still allow trucks to circulate.

Reasons for Tightening Truck Management

The number of trucks in Ho Chi Minh City is increasing rapidly, and operating around the clock in the city is one of the causes of severe traffic congestion. Limiting trucks entering the city at 9 AM and other times of the day is a necessary solution to reduce the load on the transportation system.

Conclusion

The new regulations regarding trucks entering the city at 9 AM and other times will be strictly enforced from August 1st. Vehicle owners and transportation businesses need to understand the regulations to avoid being penalized and contribute to reducing traffic congestion in Ho Chi Minh City.
