Around 6 AM on November 14th, a house at 31G, Street 17, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, suddenly caught fire. In a critical situation, a truck driver fearlessly used his vehicle to smash through the gate, creating an escape route for the family trapped inside. This courageous act saved the entire family and received widespread praise from the community.
The incident was witnessed and recorded by a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper. Initially, there was only a small wisp of smoke, but within minutes, the flames erupted fiercely. Residents and the reporter tried to break down the door and call for help, but to no avail. The house’s sturdy iron gate became a wall separating life and death.
Two men on the 3rd floor attempted to escape by jumping to the neighboring house. One managed to crawl onto the neighbor’s terrace.
The other, in a panic, jumped onto the corrugated iron roof of a nearby smoothie shop and slipped, falling to the street.
In that critical moment, the homeowner’s son risked danger, ran out, and stopped a truck passing by, pleading with the driver to ram the gate. Understanding the situation, the truck driver didn’t hesitate to reverse and forcefully hit the iron gate twice. This brave act allowed emergency services to access the scene and extinguish the fire.

The homeowner, Mr. Phan Ngoc Vinh, said that thanks to the sound of the knocking and the smell of smoke, his family was able to detect the fire in time and find a way to escape.
The brave truck driver was identified as Luong Phuc Binh, 35 years old, residing in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City. Binh shared that he acted on instinct, prioritizing saving people. He was also worried about the potential consequences of collapsing the house, but fortunately, that did not happen.
