A serious multi-vehicle accident occurred at approximately 8:00 AM this morning on National Highway 1, in the area of Ninh An commune, Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province, causing a horrific scene and prolonged traffic congestion. This truck accident involved three vehicles: a Phu Yen-plated truck, a 29-seater passenger bus, and a Thanh Hoa-plated container truck, resulting in one fatality and numerous serious injuries.
Initial reports indicate that the Phu Yen-plated truck was traveling on National Highway 1 in a south-north direction. Upon reaching Ninh An commune, the truck collided with a 29-seater passenger bus, carrying dozens of people, which was traveling in the same direction and preparing to turn. The forceful impact caused the passenger bus to lose control, veer into the opposite lane, and collide head-on with a Thanh Hoa-plated container truck traveling in the opposite direction.
The aftermath of the truck accident pile-up is extremely severe. All three vehicles sustained extensive damage. The passenger bus cabin was completely变形 (deformed), and debris from the vehicles was scattered across the road. The vehicles obstructing the roadway caused severe traffic congestion on National Highway 1 in both directions. Mr. Chu Van An, Deputy Director in charge of the Khanh Hoa Department of Transport, confirmed that the truck accident resulted in the on-site death of one person on the passenger bus. Many other victims sustained serious injuries, with various traumas. All injured individuals were quickly transported to the Ninh Hoa Town Regional General Hospital, approximately 8 km from the accident scene, for emergency medical care and treatment.
Dr. Tran Ngoc Luan, Deputy Director of Ninh Hoa Town Regional General Hospital, stated that the hospital received 12 patients from the truck accident. Among them, 8 people sustained very serious injuries, mainly head trauma, broken limbs, and multiple injuries. The hospital mobilized maximum personnel, including doctors and nurses, to focus on treating the victims, prioritizing the critically injured.
The location of the truck accident is a straight, wide six-lane section of road equipped with a full traffic safety system. This area is outside of densely populated residential areas. At the time of the accident, the weather was dry, with no rain, and the road surface was dry and clear, ensuring good driving conditions.
The scene of the truck accident is currently cordoned off by traffic police to investigate the cause of the accident and manage traffic flow.
