On the evening of October 20th, Colonel Huynh Bao Nguyen, Deputy Director of the Binh Dinh Provincial Police, confirmed the details of this horrific accident. The truck, laden with wood chips, was traveling on National Highway 1D through Quy Nhon city when it suddenly overturned. The entire load of wood chips spilled out, crushing three people who were on the road, resulting in their immediate deaths at the scene.

Immediately following the deadly truck accident, law enforcement swiftly arrived at the scene to manage the situation. The truck driver, Nguyen Minh Tam, 34 years old, residing in My Loi commune, Phu My district, was taken to the police station for questioning. Alcohol and drug tests conducted on Mr. Tam came back negative. Authorities have conducted a scene investigation and post-mortem examinations to determine the cause of this serious truck rollover accident.
According to investigative authorities, the identities of the three unfortunate victims in the truck accident have been confirmed as Mr. Nguyen The Phuc, 31 years old, originally from Nghe An province, currently serving in a military unit stationed in Phu Cat district. On the morning of October 20th, Mr. Phuc traveled from Phu Cat to Quy Nhon City to pick up three young children: T.N.N. (9 years old, residing in Quang Trung ward, Quy Nhon City) and P.B.G.B. (9 years old, residing in neighborhood 8, Nhon Phu ward, Quy Nhon City) to take them out. Tragically, on their way, all three were involved in the heartbreaking accident caused by the overturned truck.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Chin, Head of the Traffic Police Department of Binh Dinh Province, stated that this is an exceptionally serious accident, arguably the most severe to date on National Highway 1D through the center of Quy Nhon City. The accident occurred at the Nga Nam – Tay Son roundabout area (Quang Trung ward, Quy Nhon City), located on National Highway 1D. This area is marked with speed limit signs of 40km/h in both directions.
