A particularly serious traffic accident between a truck and a sleeper bus occurred at approximately 11:30 PM on February 21st on National Highway 6, in the area of Ban Kha suspension bridge, Sap Vat commune, Yen Chau district, Son La province, causing tragic consequences with numerous casualties.
According to information from Mr. Tran Van Hoang, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Sap Vat commune, the sleeper bus with license plate 26F-009.xx was traveling in the direction of Son La – Hanoi when it reached the Ban Kha suspension bridge area and collided with a tractor-trailer truck with license plate 36R-004.xx traveling in the opposite direction.
The strong impact tore open the side of the sleeper bus, shattered glass, and ejected many passengers from the vehicle. At least three people died at the scene, and a larger number were injured and are being treated at the hospital. The driver and co-driver of the tractor-trailer truck were also trapped in the deformed cabin, indicating the severity of the collision.
At the scene of the truck-bus crash, both vehicles were severely deformed, blocking National Highway 6 and causing complete traffic congestion in both directions. Debris from the vehicles was scattered across the road, demonstrating the immense force of the impact.
