A particularly serious traffic accident involving a truck crashing into a passenger bus occurred at approximately 11:30 PM on February 21st, near the Ban Kha suspension bridge in Sap Vat commune, Yen Chau district, Son La province, on National Highway 6. This tragic incident resulted in at least 3 fatalities and numerous other passengers injured, shocking the public and raising serious questions about road safety.

According to initial information from Mr. Tran Van Hoang, Chairman of the Sap Vat Commune People’s Committee, at the time of the accident, the sleeper bus, bearing license plate 26F-009.xx, was traveling on National Highway 6 in the direction from Son La City to Hanoi. When it reached the area of the Ban Kha suspension bridge, the bus collided head-on with a truck pulling a semi-trailer with license plate 36R-004.xx, traveling in the opposite direction.

Rescue forces quickly arrived at the scene to carry out rescue operations, providing first aid and transporting the injured to the nearest medical facilities.

At the scene of the truck and bus crash, both vehicles were severely deformed, blocking National Highway 6 and causing complete traffic congestion in both directions. Debris from the vehicles was scattered across the road, demonstrating the horrific scale of the accident. Authorities quickly arrived to divert traffic, ensure security and order, and investigate the cause of the truck and bus accident. This incident once again raises alarm bells about road safety, especially on national highways with high traffic density of trucks and passenger buses.
