Fatal Highway Truck-Bus Crash: 2 Die on May 27

A tragic accident occurred in the early morning of November 27th on the Noi Bai – Lao Cai Expressway, passing through Y Can commune, Tran Yen district, Yen Bai province, resulting in 2 fatalities at the scene and 5 injuries.

According to information from the Noi Bai – Lao Cai Expressway Operation Center, the truck-bus crash on the highway on May 27th happened at approximately 0:17 AM on November 27th, at Km 129+950. At the time of the accident, it was raining.

The passenger bus, bearing license plate 24B-010.97, driven by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong (born in 1978, residing in Phu Tho), was traveling in the direction of Lao Cai – Noi Bai. Due to not maintaining a safe following distance, the passenger bus collided with the rear of a truck bearing license plate 88H-021.78, which was traveling in the same direction ahead.

The strong impact caused the passenger bus driver, Nguyen Xuan Truong, and the assistant driver, Giang Seo Quang (born in 1997, residing in Muong Khuong district, Lao Cai province), to die at the scene. 5 passengers on the bus were injured.

Immediately after receiving the report, Expressway Patrol Team No. 1, of the Road Traffic Patrol and Control Division, Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security, and Operation Team 2, Noi Bai – Lao Cai Expressway Operation Center, arrived at the scene to coordinate with functional units in conducting rescue operations, protecting the scene, regulating traffic, and investigating the cause of the accident.

This truck-bus crash on the highway on May 27th once again serves as a warning about strict compliance with traffic laws, especially maintaining a safe following distance when traveling on highways, particularly in adverse weather conditions. The subjectivity and negligence of drivers can lead to regrettable consequences.
