On October 12th, a severe traffic accident occurred on the Phan Thiet – Dau Giay expressway, in the area of Binh Thuan province, when a truck unexpectedly collided head-on with a sleeper bus. The horrific impact completely deformed the front of the bus and resulted in casualties.

Horrific Accident Scene
The truck-bus head-on collision happened at approximately 9:30 AM on the Phan Thiet – Dau Giay expressway, at km20, passing through Tan Lap commune, Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan province. According to initial information, the sleeper bus with license plate 62F – 003.18 was traveling in the direction of Dong Nai to Binh Thuan when it was suddenly hit head-on by a truck traveling in the opposite direction or losing control.
The powerful impact severely deformed the front of the sleeper bus, crushing it, while the truck also sustained heavy front-end damage. The scene showed the severity of the accident, with debris from both vehicles scattered everywhere. The incident was quickly reported to authorities for investigation and handling.
Casualties and Rescue Efforts
The truck-bus head-on collision caused regrettable casualties. The bus driver and 3 passengers on the sleeper bus were injured in the strong impact. Immediately after the accident, rescue forces and ambulances quickly arrived at the scene to take the injured to the nearest hospital for emergency treatment.
Highway Patrol Team No. 6 was present to handle the scene and investigate the cause of the truck-bus head-on collision. The initial cause may be due to the truck losing control, driving in the wrong lane, or another unexpected traffic situation leading to this horrific head-on collision.
The Dau Giay – Phan Thiet expressway, a modern route with a maximum design speed of 120km/h, has been in operation since April 2023, connecting traffic between southern provinces. This truck-bus head-on collision once again serves as a warning bell about traffic safety on expressways, especially regarding the awareness of law compliance and speed control of vehicle operators.
