A serious traffic accident between a stone truck and a train occurred in Thuong Tin district, Hanoi, on the early morning of December 24th, seriously injuring both the train driver and the truck driver. At approximately 3:15 AM on December 24th, at km 28+800 of the Van Dien – Thuong Tin section, Thuong Tin district, Hanoi City, a serious railway traffic accident occurred. A stone truck traveling from National Highway 1A onto a local road was struck by the NA2 passenger train (Vinh – Hanoi route). The strong impact caused the truck to be thrown off the tracks.

According to initial information, the cause of the accident was determined to be the truck driver’s lack of observation when crossing the local road, failing to heed the warning signals of an approaching train.

Serious Consequences and Recovery Efforts

Immediately after the incident, the railway industry dispatched a 100-ton railway crane and a 100-ton road crane to the scene to rescue and resolve the incident. The railway is expected to reopen after approximately 4 hours from when the cranes arrive.
