To address this critical issue, the Vinh Phuc Provincial Traffic Police (CSGT) have implemented a series of decisive measures, yielding positive outcomes recently.
Major Bui Tuan Hai, Head of the Road Traffic Police Team (Vinh Phuc Provincial Police Department), stated that controlling and handling overloaded vehicles in the province is always a top priority. Vinh Phuc Traffic Police have increased patrols and inspections on key routes, especially National Highway 2, National Highway 2C, the Red River dyke, the Pho Day River dyke, and other inter-provincial and inter-district roads.

To counter overloaded trucks operating at night, Vinh Phuc Traffic Police have intensified nighttime patrols. This helps quickly and accurately detect vehicles violating weight limits, ensuring no “forbidden zones” or “exceptions” in handling violations.
According to information from the Vinh Phuc Provincial Police Department’s Traffic Police Division, in the recent 3 months (from May to August), the provincial Traffic Police force conducted 2,577 patrol and inspection shifts. They detected and handled 95 cases of overloaded vehicles, 2 cases of exceeding size limits, and 3 cases of illegally modified vehicle bodies. Additionally, authorities also handled numerous other violations such as alcohol concentration (2,097 cases), inadequate tarpaulin covers (240 cases), and speeding (2,735 cases).

Regarding information reflecting overloaded trucks causing disturbance on the Pho Day River, Major Nguyen Thanh Liem, Head of the River Traffic Police Team, Vinh Phuc Provincial Police Department, quickly investigated. The results showed that Vinh Lac inland waterway port in Cao Dai commune, Vinh Tuong district, was handling sulfur loading from ships to semi-trailer trucks. However, inspections by functional agencies determined that this inland waterway port had fully complied with legal procedures and regulations on handling dangerous goods. The information about overloaded trucks causing disturbance on the Pho Day River was inaccurate.
