Ford Ranger, the most popular domestically assembled pickup truck in Vietnam, has officially adjusted its selling price, increasing by VND 12 million (approximately $500 USD) for all versions starting from January 1, 2022. This increase comes nearly half a year after Ford shifted from importing to assembling the Ranger at its factory in Hai Duong.

Previously, upon its launch in the Vietnamese market, the domestically assembled Ford Ranger was available in 5 versions: XL 2.2L MT 4×4, XLS 2.2L MT 4×2, XLS 2.2L AT 4×2, XLT LTD 2.2L AT 4×4, and Wildtrak 2.0L AT 4×4, with prices ranging from VND 616 to 925 million. However, currently, the prices of these versions have been adjusted to VND 628 – 937 million.
Domestically Assembled Ford Ranger Still Pricier Than Imported Models
Despite the price increase for domestically assembled pickup trucks, the imported Ford Ranger Raptor 2.0L, fully imported from Thailand, maintains its price of VND 1.202 billion.
Ford Ranger Domestically Assembled Models in Short Supply
According to information from dealerships, the price increase has not significantly impacted the appeal of the Ford Ranger. This domestically assembled pickup truck remains in short supply due to limited supply while market demand continues to rise. The reason for this situation is attributed to the global semiconductor shortage, which has forced Ford Vietnam to reduce the supply of Ranger in the last two months of 2021.

Ford Ranger: Still Leading the Pickup Truck Segment
Ford Ranger continues to assert its leading position in the pickup truck segment in Vietnam. Ranger’s sales in November 2021 reached 2,102 vehicles, bringing the total sales for the first 11 months of 2021 to nearly 14,500 vehicles. With this result, the Ford Ranger is in the top 4 among the 10 best-selling cars in Vietnam in 2021. This demonstrates the strong appeal of this domestically assembled pickup truck to Vietnamese consumers.
