1. Ford Everest Exterior

1.1. Dimensions and Weight

Compared to its predecessor, the overall dimensions of the new generation Ford Everest have been significantly increased, providing a more imposing appearance and a more spacious interior. The car has dimensions of 4,914 x 1,923 x 1,842 (mm) in length x width x height, respectively. The wheelbase has also been extended by 50 mm to 2,900 mm, optimizing space for the passenger compartment and rear seats. Wading depth is maintained at an impressive 800 mm, along with a ground clearance of 200 mm, ensuring flexible off-road capability.

1.2. Chassis and Suspension System

As a true SUV, the Ford Everest uses a body-on-frame chassis, combined with an independent front suspension and stabilizer bar. The rear suspension with large shock absorbers and Watts Linkage stabilizer provides outstanding balance and stability, especially on mixed roads and off-road terrain. This suspension system not only helps the car run smoothly on the highway but also ensures impressive off-road capability, true to the Everest’s powerful SUV nature.

The vehicle is equipped with disc brakes for both front and rear wheels, which not only enhances the aesthetics of the wheels but also ensures optimal braking performance, providing safety and precision in all driving situations.

1.3. Front End Design

The exterior of the front end of the new generation Ford Everest has been completely redesigned, with a more masculine and powerful style. The hood is shaped with muscular lines, completely eliminating the soft rounded details of the previous generation.

The grille has been expanded and redesigned, with horizontal chrome bars connecting the headlights. The LED headlights are divided into modern compartments, integrating automatic on/off function, along with C-shaped daytime running lights, creating a prominent highlight and enhancing the modernity of the front end. On the top-end Titanium X version, the headlights are also equipped with automatic anti-glare and automatic cornering lights.

Fog lights are arranged separately below, level with the aggressive black painted front bumper. The camera in the 360 Camera package and front sensors are only equipped on the two Titanium versions, the Sport version only has front sensors, while the Ambiente version will not have these two features.

1.4. Powerful Body

Seen from the side, the Ford Everest still exudes a masculine and sturdy look with square, decisive design lines. Details such as door handles, window trim, and rearview mirror covers are plated with shiny chrome, adding to the luxury and modernity. On the Sport version, the chrome details are replaced with black paint, emphasizing the sporty and personal style.

The car is equipped with footrests to make getting in and out of the car easier. The rearview mirrors are large, fully integrated with features such as power folding, power adjustment, and turn signals. However, the position of the rearview mirrors is placed at the A-pillar instead of on the door, which may slightly affect the driver’s visibility in some situations.

1.5. Modern Rear End

The rear of the Ford Everest is designed to be softer than the overall squareness of the car, but still exudes a modern and powerful look. The main highlight is the LED taillights connected by a large Everest strip, creating a distinctive identity. The rear bumper is supplemented with reflectors, increasing safety when traveling in low light conditions.

The Everest’s luggage compartment has a large capacity of up to 576 liters, meeting the needs of carrying luggage for the whole family on long trips. The power tailgate and hands-free tailgate features are only equipped from the Sport version onwards. Other standard equipment at the rear of the car includes a reversing camera, rear parking sensors, a high-mounted brake light, and a spoiler, all of which are fully equipped on all 4 versions.

1.6. Wheels and Tires

All versions of the Ford Everest are equipped with aluminum alloy wheels with a strong and impressive design. However, the wheel size varies between versions. The Sport, Titanium and Titanium+ versions use 20-inch wheels with 255/55R20 tires, while the Ambiente version is equipped with 18-inch wheels and 255/65R18 tires.

In the center of the dashboard is an air conditioning vent designed with a grille pattern similar to the radiator grille and a large entertainment touch screen, 12 inches on the Titanium and Titanium+ versions, or 10 inches on the Ambiente and Sport versions. The 8-speaker sound system comes with full connectivity such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, USB, and Bluetooth, meeting the diverse entertainment needs of users.

The gear lever area on the Everest is conveniently located within the driver’s reach. The car is equipped with an electronic parking brake and Auto Hold on all 4 versions. However, only the Titanium+ version is equipped with an electronic gear lever; the remaining 3 versions still use a traditional gear lever. The electronic gear lever has a more compact design than the old version, integrating function selection buttons and a rotary knob for selecting driving modes. The center armrest is large, integrating a spacious storage compartment, along with many convenient cup holders around the driver’s position.

2.2. Seating System

Ford Everest is equipped with leather seats for all 4 versions, along with an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. In particular, on the 2 Titanium versions, the front passenger seat is also equipped with power adjustment, providing high-class convenience for both the driver and passengers.

The space between the rows of seats is very spacious, especially the 2nd row of seats can slide up and down, helping to increase space for the 3rd row of seats or the luggage compartment. All rows of seats are equipped with storage compartments, charging ports, and air conditioning vents, ensuring comfort for all passengers in the car.

3. Powerful Engine and Transmission

The new generation Ford Everest uses a 2.0L diesel engine with two turbocharging options: single turbo and bi-turbo. The top-end Titanium+ version is equipped with a bi-turbo engine, 4-wheel drive, and comes with an electronic rotary knob, allowing the selection of 4-wheel drive high, 4-wheel drive low, or rear-wheel drive modes, suitable for many different terrain conditions. The remaining versions use a single turbo engine and rear-wheel drive.

The bi-turbo engine on the Titanium+ version produces a maximum power of 210 horsepower and a maximum torque of 500 Nm, combined with a 10-speed Selectshift automatic transmission. The remaining versions have a power of 170 horsepower and a torque of 405 Nm, accompanied by a 6-speed automatic transmission.

All engine versions of the Ford Everest are compatible with B20 biodiesel, a more environmentally friendly fuel. Ford representatives said that the engine on the new Everest has been tweaked to reduce vibration and jerking compared to the 2.0L engine on the previous generation, providing a smoother and more comfortable driving experience.

The new generation Ford Everest is equipped with 6 terrain driving modes, including: Normal, Economy, Towing, Slippery, Mud and Sand. Drivers can easily select driving modes through the speedometer screen, with an intuitive 3D illustration interface.
