Tesla Cybertruck: Price, Features, and Market Competition

The Cybertruck, Elon Musk’s ambitious project, has finally been officially launched by Tesla. With its unique design and powerful performance, the Cybertruck promises to create a new wave in the electric pickup truck market. However, the higher-than-expected price and fierce competition from rivals pose many challenges for Tesla.

Cybertruck: From Concept to Reality

After years of waiting, Tesla finally shipped the first Cybertruck pickup truck at an event in Austin, Texas. CEO Elon Musk personally drove the Cybertruck onto the stage to the cheers of the crowd and handed over the vehicle to several customers. With its angular design, made of shiny stainless steel, the Cybertruck has a futuristic look, inspired by the car that could turn into a submarine in the James Bond movie.

Cybertruck Price: Higher Than Expected

The starting price of the Cybertruck pickup truck is announced at $60,990 USD, 50% higher than the $40,000 USD that Elon Musk announced in 2019. Other versions range in price from $60,990 USD to $99,990 USD. The most advanced version, Cyberbeast, is expected to launch next year with all-wheel drive and a starting price of around $80,000 USD. The cheapest rear-wheel drive version starts at around $61,000 USD and will launch in 2025.

Outstanding Performance and Features

Elon Musk claims the Cybertruck electric pickup truck is “more useful than a truck” and “faster than a sports car”. He showed a video of the Cybertruck pulling a Porsche 911 and beating a gasoline-powered 911 in a short race. The Cybertruck version with the longest range can travel an estimated 547 km, along with a “range extender” or additional battery pack that increases the travel distance up to 756 km.

Fierce Competition in the Electric Pickup Truck Market

The Cybertruck pickup truck joins the increasingly competitive electric pickup truck market with competitors such as the Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T and General Motors Hummer EV. Each car has its own advantages in terms of price, features and performance. The appearance of the Cybertruck will certainly make the race in this segment more attractive. Tesla aims to produce about 250,000 Cybertrucks per year by 2025. Whether the Cybertruck electric pickup truck will succeed is still a big question, especially in the context of falling electric vehicle demand and increasing competition. (Vietnam+)
