At approximately 3:25 PM on September 24th, V.M.Tr (born 2007, a 10th-grade student at Y Jút High School, Cư Êwi commune, Cư Kuin district) and another male student were walking across Highway 27 at Km 16+570. As they reached the middle of the road, they encountered a car traveling towards Buôn Ma Thuột City – Cư Kuin. Tr stepped back to avoid the car and was unexpectedly struck directly by a truck with license plate 51D-432.81, driven by Đinh Quang Huy (born 1999, from Đắk Glei district, Kon Tum province). The strong impact caused Tr’s immediate death.
Accident Scene and Initial Cause
At the scene, the truck sustained damage to its front end, and the victim’s body lay nearby. The tragic accident caused traffic congestion in the area. According to initial information, the cause of the accident may be that Tr unexpectedly stepped back while crossing the road, just as the truck was passing. Authorities are continuing to investigate and clarify the cause of the incident.
