AhaMove officially increased transportation fees for the Super Speed and Super Saver services, while reducing commission fees for the Fixed Price 25 and HUB services starting from January 14, 2019. This adjustment aims to improve drivers’ benefits, supporting their income while fulfilling tax obligations as regulated.
AhaMove Collects and Pays Taxes on Behalf of Drivers from January 14, 2019
Based on Official Letter No. 9229/CT-TTHT of the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department dated September 7, 2018, guiding the declaration and payment of taxes on behalf of individuals, AhaMove will collect and pay tax obligations on behalf of drivers from January 14, 2019.
Specifically, AhaMove will deduct 4.5% of tax obligations on drivers’ taxable revenue, including:
- 3% value-added tax.
- 1.5% personal income tax.
Equivalent to 3.6% of the total service fee for Super Speed, Super Saver, Fixed Price, and 3.3% of the total service fee for HUB services.
In addition, AhaMove will also deduct:
- 1% on all income from bonuses for drivers that are considered revenue.
- 10% personal income tax on other support fees that are not considered revenue.
Fare and Commission Adjustments – Increased Driver Income
The adjustment of fares and commission fees is implemented by AhaMove to ensure that drivers’ income is not reduced after tax deductions. Specifically, as follows:
- Super Speed, Super Saver Services: Increased base fare for distances under 4km. The new fares are VND 23,000 and VND 18,000 respectively for the first 4km. After 4km, the fare remains unchanged from the old price of VND 5,000/km and VND 4,000/km. The commission fee remains at 20%.
- Fixed Price 25 Service: Reduced commission fee to 20%. The applied price remains the same at VND 25,000/delivery point.
- HUB Service: Reduced commission fee to 26.7%. The applied price remains the same at VND 12,000/successful delivery point.
