In Dien Ban town, Quang Nam province, two truck-related accidents occurred on July 29th, resulting in two fatalities and one injury. These incidents, happening on National Highway 1 and DH8 road, have raised concerns about traffic safety in the area.
The first accident took place around 6:00 AM on July 29, 2024, at Km943+250 on National Highway 1, in Bo Mung 1 area, Dien Thang Bac ward. A motorcycle with license plate 43H4-0729, driven by Mr. Duong Phu Lanh (born in 1972) and carrying Mr. Luong Van Nang (born in 1973), both residing in Dien Phuong ward, Dien Ban town, was traveling towards Da Nang from Quang Nam. At the mentioned location, the motorcycle collided with a truck with license plate 77C-181.14, driven by Mr. Tran Ba Lam (born in 1993, residing in Binh Dinh province), which was making a turn.
This truck accident resulted in the immediate death of Mr. Duong Phu Lanh. Mr. Luong Van Nang sustained injuries and was rushed to Vinh Duc Hospital for emergency treatment. The motorcycle was severely damaged at the scene, and the front of the truck was also affected. The accident, occurring during the early morning rush hour, caused localized traffic congestion on National Highway 1.
Just hours later, at 9:09 AM on the same day, another truck accident occurred on DH8 road, passing through Quang Lang B area, Dien Nam Trung ward. A tractor-trailer with license plate 43C-172.93, pulling a semi-trailer 43R-009.70, driven by Mr. Nguyen Khac Minh (born in 1993, residing in Ninh Thuan province), was traveling from DT607 towards National Highway 1. The tractor-trailer collided with a motorcycle with license plate 60T4-6264, driven by Mr. Pham Duc Minh Tam (born in 2000, residing in Ho Chi Minh City), which was traveling in the same direction.

As a result of the truck accident on DH8 road, Mr. Pham Duc Minh Tam died at the scene. The accident, occurring on a local inter-communal road, also affected traffic in the area.
Currently, authorities in Dien Ban town are investigating the causes of both serious accidents. The successive accidents in a single day serve as a warning about the complex traffic safety situation in Dien Ban, Quang Nam, especially on roads with high truck traffic.
