A horrific truck overturn accident involving a wood chip truck at the Nga Nam roundabout on Tay Son street, Quy Nhon city on the morning of October 20, tragically resulted in the deaths of three pedestrians. The entire load of wood chips from the truck spilled onto the road.
Driver Test Results
Immediately after the accident, authorities quickly arrived at the scene and worked with the driver, Nguyen Minh Tam (34 years old, residing in My Loi commune, Phu My district). The test results showed that Tam was negative for both alcohol and drugs.
Victims of the Truck Overturn Accident
The three deceased victims were identified as Nguyen The Phuc (31 years old, from Nghe An province), working at a military unit stationed in Phu Cat district, and two 9-year-old children, T.N.N. (residing in Quang Trung ward, Quy Nhon city) and P.B.G.B. (residing in khu pho 8, Nhon Phu ward, Quy Nhon city). That morning, Mr. Phuc was traveling from Phu Cat to Quy Nhon to pick up the two children for an outing when the accident occurred.
Investigation into the Cause of the Accident
Functional agencies have completed the scene examination, autopsy, and are conducting technical inspections and evaluations of the truck to determine the cause of this fatal truck overturn accident. Colonel Huynh Bao Nguyen – Deputy Director of the Binh Dinh Provincial Police, stated that the investigation into the cause will continue.

Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Chin – Head of the Traffic Police Department of Binh Dinh Provincial Police, stated that this is the most serious accident to occur on National Highway 1D through the center of Quy Nhon city.
