A serious traffic accident occurred on the evening of November 28th in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, and authorities are investigating the cause. A 7-seater car caused a chain collision, injuring several people after driving against traffic on a parallel road. This incident once again raises a warning about the danger of reckless driving, especially the potential for dangerous rear-end collisions with trucks.
Initial reports indicate that around 5:10 PM on the same day, a driver in a 7-seater car with license plate 51K-022.49 was traveling on the parallel road of Hanoi Highway, heading from Do Xuan Hop Street to Mai Chi Tho Street.
Upon reaching address number 100 on the parallel road, An Phu Ward, Thu Duc City, the 7-seater car suddenly collided with a 16-seater passenger van traveling in the opposite direction. Not stopping there, the 7-seater car continued into the opposite lane, hitting 3 motorbikes moving towards it.
The chain collision injured 4 people, who were hospitalized for emergency treatment, including two men, a woman, and an 11-year-old boy. Among the victims, two men sustained very serious injuries and are in critical condition.
At the scene, it was observed that 3 motorbikes were severely damaged, with vehicle debris scattered behind the 7-seater car. Notably, the front left wheel of the 7-seater car had fallen off. The 16-seater passenger van also suffered scratches on its left side.
The driver of the 7-seater car was taken to the ward police headquarters for questioning and to assist with the investigation.
Immediately after receiving the report, Thu Duc City Police quickly arrived at the scene to conduct an examination, collect testimonies from witnesses, and investigate the cause of the accident. As of 7:30 PM on the same day, the accident scene was still being processed by authorities.
This accident not only caused casualties and property damage but also raises concerns about the traffic awareness of some drivers. Driving against traffic, failing to control speed, and lack of observation are extremely dangerous and can lead to unpredictable consequences. In many other situations, similar actions can cause rear-end collisions with trucks or other large vehicles, which are very difficult to handle and often result in more serious consequences.
