At approximately 12 PM on January 3, 2019, a truck with license plate 89C-083.85, driven by Mr. Mac Van Tai (born in 1986, residing in village 3, Hong Thai Tay commune, Dong Trieu town), overturned into a roadside drainage ditch on National Highway 18A, in Kim Son ward, Dong Trieu town, Quang Ninh province. This truck accident on January 4, 2019, resulted in about 7 tons of coal ash spilling from the truck onto the sidewalk.

Developments of the Truck Accident on January 4, 2019
Fortunately, the road was quiet at the time of the accident, and no one was injured. Driver Tai was also unharmed. Immediately after the incident, Dong Trieu Town Police arrived at the scene to document the event, investigate the cause of the truck accident on January 4, 2019, and take the vehicle and cargo to the station for further investigation.

At the police station, driver Tai stated that he had collected the coal ash from the Trao Ha area in Yen Thang commune (Dong Trieu) to transport to Hai Duong for sale to lime kilns. Upon reaching the location, Tai intended to pull over at a roadside eatery for lunch when the accident unfortunately happened.
Investigation Results of the Truck Accident on January 4, 2019
The Dong Trieu Town Police collected samples from truck 89C-083.85 for analysis. The analysis results, dated January 4, 2019, indicated that the ash content of the material was AK= 79.53%, confirming it to be coal ash.
