A serious traffic accident in Di An, Binh Duong, has once again sounded the alarm about the dangers of truck lane violations, tragically claiming the lives of a mother and child. The truck driver, after stopping to nap near the curb, swerved into the motorcycle lane just seconds after waking up, causing the heartbreaking accident.
On the afternoon of August 10th, on My Phuoc Tan Van Street, Di An City, Binh Duong, a truck lane violation took the lives of Ms. V.T.S (37 years old) and her son T.B.L (6 years old). The Investigative Police Agency of Di An City Police quickly detained Nguyen Van Ron (28 years old, from Thua Thien Hue) to investigate this serious traffic violation.
According to initial information, around 1:57 PM, Mr. T.X.B (49 years old, residing in Thu Duc City), a ride-hailing driver, was carrying Ms. S and baby L on My Phuoc Tan Van Street in the direction from Tan Van intersection to National Highway 1K. When reaching the intersection with Chau Thoi Street, Mr. B’s motorcycle collided with a truck with license plate 50H-146.42 driven by Nguyen Van Ron, traveling in the same direction and encroaching into the motorcycle lane.

The strong collision caused all three people on the motorcycle to fall onto the road. Unfortunately, Ms. S and baby L were run over by the truck and died at the scene. Mr. B miraculously escaped death but was extremely distraught. The scene showed the motorcycle lying on the sidewalk, while the entire accident scene was completely within the lane for motorcycles, clearly demonstrating the truck’s encroachment into the motorcycle lane.
According to relatives, Ms. S and her son were on their way home in Tan Binh Ward, Di An City, after being dropped off by her husband (a container truck driver) at Tan Van intersection. The pain and immense loss that has befallen this small family is heartbreaking.
Notably, the truck’s dashcam footage shows that before causing the accident, the driver Ron had parked the truck near the curb to take a nap. At 1:56 PM, the driver woke up and drove away. Just seconds later, at 1:58 PM, the tragic accident occurred. This raises concerns about the health and alertness of driver Nguyen Van Ron before driving, especially after waking up from an afternoon nap.

The act of driving a truck in the wrong lane, whether intentional or unintentional, always poses a very high risk of causing traffic accidents.
