Deadly Bus-Truck Collision in Lam Dong Under Investigation

Authorities in Lam Dong are reconstructing the scene of a serious traffic accident involving a passenger bus and a truck to determine the cause. The incident, which occurred in Di Linh district, resulted in severe casualties and property damage.

Initial reports indicate that the accident happened when a passenger bus, bearing license plate 53S-1930 and carrying approximately 30 passengers, was traveling from Da Lat towards Ho Chi Minh City. At a bend in Thon 5, Lien Dam commune, Di Linh district, the bus collided head-on with a truck bearing license plate 49X-3582, which was traveling in the opposite direction.

A passenger on the bus, Mr. Doan Thanh Tung, currently receiving treatment at Di Linh Medical Center, recounted that the bus was traveling at high speed and had overtaken another truck moving in the same direction. Immediately after overtaking, the bus unexpectedly crashed directly into truck 49X-3582 coming from the opposite way.

The devastating impact completely变形 the front of the passenger bus, tearing off its roof. The truck also sustained significant damage, with its front end crushed. Preliminary reports confirm that the accident resulted in 2 fatalities at the scene: the truck driver, Nguyen Minh Nhat (born 1983, resident of Don Duong district, Lam Dong), and a bus passenger, Do Thi Nam (resident of Gia Lam, Hanoi).

Following initial treatment, 7 severely injured individuals were transferred to Lam Dong II Hospital (in Bao Loc town) for further care. Those with minor injuries received medication and were discharged, while 7 others remain under observation and treatment at Di Linh Medical Center.

Immediately after the accident, leaders of Di Linh district arrived at the scene to direct rescue operations and visit the victims. The district provided initial support of 2 million VND for each fatality and 1 million VND for each injured person.

This accident serves as another stark warning about traffic safety, particularly on mountainous roads in Lam Dong. The Lam Dong truck accident reconstruction is being urgently carried out to determine the precise cause of the accident, providing a basis for effective preventative measures in the future.
