Heavy rains caused by the remnants of Typhoon No. 3 have caused the Lo River to rise, causing severe flooding in many areas of Tuyen Quang and Phu Tho provinces. In Doan Hung district, Phu Tho province, residents and functional forces worked around the clock to build levees, mobilizing even truck crews to fight the flood.

On the night of September 10, approximately 10 meters of the Lo River dike in Quyet Thang commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province, bordering Hop Nhat commune, Doan Hung district, broke. Immediately, hundreds of residents and functional forces from both localities urgently transported sandbags to the scene. Many trucks carrying stone and truck crews helping to build the levee were also mobilized to respond to the incident.
Mr. Nguyen Van Van – Chairman of the People’s Committee of Doan Hung district said: The district has mobilized the police, army and about 200 – 300 people, along with excavators and truck crews assisting with levee construction, to support the relocation of people and property of 20 households in Ho Xanh area and participate in building levees against floods.

Hop Nhat commune, Doan Hung district, along the Lo River, was also directly affected. On the afternoon of September 10, the entire commune relocated 42 households. Thanks to the early deployment of relocation efforts, there were no casualties. However, due to the continuing complicated developments of rain and floods and rising water levels, people and functional forces are still constantly on duty, promptly supplementing dikes in areas with high risks.
