On September 26th, around 1:45 PM, an incident occurred on National Highway 91 in O Mon district, Can Tho City. A young man, suspected of being under the influence of drugs, allegedly stole a cargo truck. The suspect drove at high speed, going against traffic from O Mon district towards Thot Not district, causing a chain-reaction accident that resulted in the death of two people.

At least two bystanders were killed after being directly hit by the truck.
