At approximately 2:20 PM on October 18th, a driver operating a truck (license plate unknown) was traveling on National Highway 1 from the Mekong Delta towards Ho Chi Minh City. Upon reaching an intersection in My Yen commune, Ben Luc district, Long An province, the driver switched lanes to the opposite side of the road and drove against the traffic flow. This dangerous maneuver nearly caused a collision with a truck traveling in the correct direction.

Footage from the clip shows that when the truck drove in the wrong direction, numerous motorcycles traveling in the correct direction had to swerve close to the median strip to avoid it. Other vehicles had to pull over to the side of the road to evade the reckless truck. The truck driver then turned into a nearby parking lot, about 50 meters away from the location of the incident.
Police Investigate Dangerous Driving

The Traffic Police Department of Long An province stated that they have received the video clip of the truck driving in the wrong direction on National Highway 1. The department has dispatched officers to investigate and handle the violating driver. This incident once again raises concerns about drivers disregarding traffic laws, endangering other road users.
