Overload Fines for Drivers in 2020
Decree 100/2019/ND-CP stipulates the fines for drivers of trucks, tractors (including trailers or semi-trailers), and similar vehicles transporting goods exceeding the permissible load specified in the vehicle’s Certificate of Technical Safety and Environmental Protection as follows:
- Exceeding the load by 10% to 30%: A fine of VND 800,000 to VND 1,000,000 (except for liquid tank trucks), over 20% to 30% for liquid tank trucks.
- Exceeding the load by 30% to 50%: A fine of VND 3,000,000 to VND 5,000,000. Revocation of the driver’s license for 01 to 03 months.
- Exceeding the load by 50% to 100%: A fine of VND 5,000,000 to VND 7,000,000. Revocation of the driver’s license for 01 to 03 months.
- Exceeding the load by 100% to 150%: A fine of VND 7,000,000 to VND 8,000,000. Revocation of the driver’s license for 02 to 04 months.
