A tragic accident occurred in Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province when a truck crashed into a grocery store, killing 6 people. This heartbreaking event raises many questions about traffic safety and driver responsibility.
Cause of Accident Unclear, Initial Reports Suspect Loss of Control
At approximately 4:45 PM on January 12th, a truck carrying phrynium leaves was descending a slope in Nam Can commune when it suddenly lost control and crashed directly into a roadside grocery store. The violent impact resulted in 5 fatalities at the scene, including 3 children. One person sustained severe injuries and was taken to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.
Devastated Scene, Victims Pinned Under Truck
The scene of the accident was utterly devastating. Part of the house cum grocery store was collapsed and severely damaged by the truck. Victims were pinned under the truck along with concrete debris and overturned motorbikes. The accident occurred on a steep, curved section of road, posing significant hazards.
Victims and Driver Identified
The deceased victims were identified as: Ms. L.T.K. (40 years old), Ms. V.Y.D. (20 years old), V.T.P. (7 years old), V.X.D. (9 years old), V.Y.M. (11 years old), and V.Y.D. (2 years old). The victims were related as cousins. The truck driver is Mr. V.V.H. (43 years old, from Tuong Duong district, Nghe An province). The driver has been detained for investigation.
Local Authorities Visit and Support Victims’ Families
Law enforcement and local authorities were present at the scene to investigate and visit, providing support to the victims’ families. The Nghe An Provincial Traffic Safety Committee arrived at the scene to offer condolences, encouragement, and financial assistance of 5 million VND to each deceased victim’s family.
