Government Car Reckless Overtaking Leads to Truck Overturn: Truck Driver Injured
The accident happened at approximately 11:00 AM on November 18th at Km133+500 of National Highway 6, Dong Tan commune, Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province. Dashcam footage captured a 16-seater government car belonging to the Vietnam Television Film Center (VFC) overtaking two cars simultaneously. This dangerous action forced the truck driver traveling in the opposite direction to swerve sharply to avoid a collision, causing the truck to lose control and plunge into a roadside ditch.
VTV Addresses and Supports Truck Driver
Following the accident, the truck driver was injured and taken to Viet Duc Hospital in Hanoi for emergency treatment. Vietnam Television (VTV) has officially addressed the incident. VTV stated that they have been working with authorities and the family of the government car driver has also visited and provided support to the truck driver during treatment.
According to the latest information, the truck driver’s health is improving. VTV has committed to cooperating with authorities and the truck driver’s family to resolve the matter in accordance with the law. The Film Center (VFC) is also implementing disciplinary procedures against the violating driver.
