Developed from the renowned luxury SUV BMW X7, the unique BMW X7 pickup truck concept has officially debuted, sparking anticipation for a luxury pickup line bearing the distinctive BMW mark in the future. This unexpected appearance has garnered special attention from automotive enthusiasts and car communities worldwide.
According to BMW, this special BMW X7 pickup truck project was entirely undertaken by 12 of the company’s trainees. This is a testament to the creativity and incredible effort of BMW’s young generation of engineers, who independently conceived and brought the X7 pickup to life without intervention from seasoned experts. The quality of the vehicle’s completion is a worthy result of the passion and dedication of this talented group of interns.

The BMW X7 pickup truck is built on the SUV X7 platform, eliminating the third row of seats to optimize space for the rear cargo bed. The cargo bed floor is lined with luxurious wood, with enough area to comfortably carry a large displacement motorcycle like the 2019 BMW F850 GS. This unique combination clearly demonstrates the versatility and dynamic lifestyle that BMW wants to convey with this special pickup truck model.
The SUV X7 version used as the development platform is the X7 xDrive40i, equipped with a powerful 3.0L turbocharged I6 engine, producing 335 horsepower and 420Nm of torque. This power is transmitted through the renowned 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and BMW’s signature xDrive all-wheel-drive system, ensuring agile and stable handling on all terrains.

To optimize operating performance, the BMW X7 pickup truck also utilizes carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) for some parts such as the roof, rear doors, and tailgate. This solution significantly reduces the vehicle’s weight by up to 200kg, improving acceleration, fuel efficiency, and enhancing agility during movement.
The interior of the BMW X7 pickup truck is designed with 5 spacious and luxurious seats, inheriting the essence of the X7 SUV line. High-quality teak wood continues to be used to line the cargo bed floor, bringing harmonious beauty and đẳng cấp. The cargo bed has a standard length of 140 cm when closed and extends up to 200 cm when needed. Other unique details include handles and decorative strips manufactured using modern 3D printing technology, along with a striking Tanzanite Blue metallic exterior paint.
Although only a concept version developed by a team of trainees, the BMW X7 pickup truck still demonstrates great potential and may be a market exploration step by BMW before deciding to venture into the luxury pickup segment in the future. If it receives positive feedback from the market, it is possible that BMW will realize this unique vehicle, bringing a fresh breeze to the global pickup truck market.
