At approximately 8:40 PM on July 28th, a train operated by Mr. D.H.H. was traveling North-South. Upon reaching the level crossing between the railway and Pham Van Thuan street in Bien Hoa City, the train collided with a pickup truck bearing license plate 60C-597.05, driven by Mr. V.V.K.
The forceful impact propelled the pickup truck into a garbage truck on the roadside. Tragically, a garbage collector and a 13-year-old boy in the pickup truck died instantly at the scene. Three other occupants of the pickup truck sustained serious injuries.

Immediately following the accident, authorities arrived at the scene to conduct rescue operations and investigate the cause. The two seriously injured victims were rushed to Dong Nai General Hospital for emergency treatment in critical condition.
Pickup Truck Driver Tests Negative for Drugs
According to information from Dong Nai General Hospital, the pickup truck driver, V.V.K., was admitted to the hospital in a conscious and responsive state. Mr. K. suffered soft tissue injuries to his face, a left shoulder injury, and pain in his right ankle. Test results showed that Mr. K. was negative for ethanol (alcohol) and narcotics.

According to the Deputy Director of Dong Nai Provincial Police, the initial cause was determined to be the pickup truck driver’s failure to comply with the “Attention Train” warning signals. Furthermore, part of the cause is also attributed to the local authorities’ responsibility in implementing Prime Minister’s Decision 358 regarding the removal of unauthorized level crossings in their managed areas.
